SONOVA's 2017 - 2018 Season

You won't want to miss a single concert in our sixth season.

Unless otherwise noted, all SONOVA Subscription Series concerts listed below take place at the George Washington Masonic Memorial Theater, 101 Callahan Drive in Alexandria, Va., just steps from the King Street metro stop on the blue and yellow metro lines.


Saturday, November 18, 7:00 P.M.

Join us for an immersive event as SONOVA takes on the music from today’s most popular video games. The concert will feature pieces spanning the whole history of gaming, from arcades to multiplayer console games.


Sunday, December 3, 3:00 P.M.

Get in the holiday spirit with SONOVA's brass quintet! SONOVA’s annual holiday event will feature all your favorite Christmas and holiday tunes.

Saturday, March 3, 7:00 P.M. (Doors open at 6:00 PM for gala and auction)

Pack your bags and travel to Brazil with SONOVA! For one splendid evening, join us for a trip through the history of classical Brazilian music, from the Baroque period to the modern day. We are excited to partner with the Embassy of Brazil for this concert, and feature talented Brazilian flautist, James Strauss.

As always, the evening will feature SONOVA's famous gala and silent auction. Join us at 6:00 PM for a reception including food and drinks (alcoholic and non). We will have more than 60 exciting items up for bid before the concert and during intermission!

Star Wars in Concert with SONOVA

Experience the iconic music of the Star Wars saga in this family concert. We are partnering with the City of Gaithersburg to celebrate Star Wars day by bringing John Williams' score to life.

Sunday, May 6, 3:00 P.M.

For our sixth season’s final concert, SONOVA presents two exciting musical works: Mozart’s famous Requiem Mass in D minor, and the world premiere of an original work—“Darkness & Light: Two Pieces for Orchestra,” commissioned by Jay and Jon Kurtz—written by SONOVA’s own composer-in-residence, Michael Ream.
